Tiffany Leslie

This was my Christmas background!  I keep my pandas up all the time and just change the rest of the background to seasonal.  I love pandas!! (Can you tell?)

Tiffany Leslie enjoys the “mom life” in Texas! After her morning VIPKid classes, she helps her five children get to school and all of their extracurricular activities. We also have an interview in which she talks with FBP co-founder, Danielle Simpson.

What companies do you teach for?
VIPKid

How long have you been teaching?
1 year and 4 months

Have you always taught? Or did you start out in another field entirely?
My first job was as a public school teacher.  I taught second and third grades for 6 years in public school.

Tricks for staying alert:
I get up an hour before my first class.  I always wear makeup, including lipstick!  I drink coffee before class.  I have some nice smelling oils that a friend gave me that I will use on my neck if I’m especially tired.

What is your schedule like?
I teach 5-8 am, 6 days a week.  I will open up some Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights if I am available.

Favorite lesson (or level) to teach:
I really love the Level 5, Making Friends unit.  The students are usually very successful with this unit and it is a good time for them to gain confidence.

We brought our adopted children home to Texas in February 2013.
Disney World’s photopass is the best thing ever!!  We would all strike a pose for the cameras on the rides!  Good times!

What do you do between classes?
I rarely finish at the 25 minute mark.  I do not have time to do much of anything between classes.  I make sure I have my reward ready to go for the next student, and I enter the next class.

How do you use FeedbackPanda (what is your process)?
I look through the templates and choose one that closest fits my style.  I love having a starting point, but I rarely copy and use a template straight up.  I will always tweak it to my personal style.  I love the new smart sentences!  I only copy and paste a template if I absolutely have no time.

Describe your feedback style/structure:
I follow Teacher David Yee’s advice on feedback.  I keep the sentences short and sweet with simple language.  I always tell the parents which words we’ve worked on for pronunciation.  I always thank the parents for taking a class with me.  I always thank them if they’ve left a review.

Good feedback must contain
gratitude.

What do you like to see when checking the Teacher-to-Teacher Feedback (notes on students from teachers in the VIPKid/Gogokid portal)?
I like to see what skills the student has mastered and which skills the child needs support for.  I like to see what reward the other teacher has used.  I always leave T to T feedback, and I will check it for new students.

This picture is from my son’s Christmas Orchestra concert.  We were all together, which is a rare and treasured occasion!  We are busy!!
4 of my children and I tried an escape room over Thanksgiving.  It did not go well, but we had fun!  Lol

Has FeedbackPanda helped you manage your job and personal life? Any specifics? (e.g. before and after)
Before I started using it, I was getting really frustrated and overwhelmed by creating new feedback all the time.  It really saved me time and anxiety once I started using FBP.

What are your interests?
My husband and I have 5 teenagers.  They all have extracurricular activities.  I am very busy with their sports, dance, orchestra.  I like to read if I have any spare time.

Notes or comments to the teachers who import your templates (if applicable)?
I have shared a few templates, but I’m really unsure if anyone has used any of them?
